Inkling Explorations Link-Up // May 2016

(Note: if you're interested in participating and new to the blog, you can find our link-up explanation/guidelines + more buttons here. :))

Hello everyone!! Wow. Getting engaged to be married at the end of April definitely made for some most wonderful, exciting and blessed adjustments in my schedule this month! ;D

I know we're almost into June here, but (as we're still in the merry month of May) I wanted to do our Inklings post anyway. I was thrilled by all your wonderful entries last month (they were absolutely fantastic :)) and if you'd like to join in for this month during this last week I'd be equally delighted!

This month's selection is: A scene making beautiful use of special effects/CGI in film

With all sorts of wedding plans blossoming, I've certainly been thinking (a lot) of a Certain Film, definitely including this particular scene. The blue, the swirl, the butterflies, the breath catching music... it's all pure and utter gorgeousness.

Tell me! Do you love this scene?

~     ~     ~

Just leave your own link here in a comment and I'll add it to the post. As always, entries are open through the end of the month and I can't wait to see your selections!

(Note from Heidi: I haven't personally read or seen the above, but the entry is definitely perfect!)

*How to do it*

1. Post the Inklings button on your sidebar.
2. Do a post on your own blog relating to the month's selection/subject (a literary excerpt as short or as long as you like AND/OR—if specified that month—a screencap from a film with an explanation of how the scene builds/develops the story). Link back here somewhere in your post.
3. Come back here and paste your link in the comments box and I'll add it to the post. Then enjoy visiting and reading everyone else's contributions!

That's all there is to it!

Up next month: Roses in book or film

  1. Oh, YES! I do love that scene!! Are you thinking of having a Cinderella inspired wedding? I hope all your planning is coming along!! :D

So, while I have an entry I want you to know that you don't have to include it. It's from Harry Potter and I know that Harry Potter isn't welcome in all circles. So, if you're uncomfortable or don't think it fits the bill, no worries, don't include it. :) Thanks for the selection! Here is my entry:

    1. Cordy,
Isn't it gorgeous?!? :) And thank you!! Yes, it'll be different, but there's definitely some Cinderella inspiration going into my wedding planning. ;) (And as you can see I'm just a little excited. ;D)

And thank you for your entry! I put on a little disclaimer as I haven't personally read or seen HP (yet -- I'd like to someday just to officially make up my mind on the subject), but the scene itself definitely fits the bill for this month's subject. And thank you for so much for being flexible and understanding either way!

  2. How wonderful! You're engaged. Congratulations. :) And your choice for this month's selection is gorgeous! I've never seen the movie but I want to. I chose The Chronicles of Narnia!

    1. Kathy,
Thank you so much!! :) (On both counts. ;)) Yes, Cinderella's just utterly gorgeous and beautiful and breathtaking through and through. I do so hope you can see it soon!!! :D

And wonderful -- thank you so much for your entry!

  3. Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh . . . I LOVE THIS SCENE SO MUCH. The "butterflies" moment may be my very favorite part in the entire movie, as a matter of fact :-) Such a lovely choice, Heidi!!

    1. jessica,
!!!!!!!!!!!! ;D *tingles all round* ;) :) And thank you!!

(Btw, I have NOT forgotten your kind email that has been languishing in my inbox. Thank you and it meant so much!! *coughs* The days have just been pretty full, but have no fear, you haven't remotely been forgotten! ;P)

  4. I love that scene!

No idea what I'm going to choose. Hmmmmmmmmm.

    1. Hamlette!

And ooh... I'm looking forward to your selection! (If you feel inspired. ;))

  5. Oh, what fun!! I unfortunately won't be able to join in this month, but looking at your theme for next month makes me so excited...I'm not sure how I'll narrow down a choice! :D

I'm so excited for the season of life you're in right now! It must be all so exciting. You've been in my thoughts very often. :) And ooh! I was reading the above comments and the mention of Cinderella inspiring some of your wedding planning made me smile. :D

  6. Ahhhh....I love the scene you chose! It's so pretty and blue and dreamy! :D

    Here is my entry:

I combined it with another post, but the selection is at the top, so you won't have to scroll through tons of stuff to find it ;)
